Writing
I'm a writer and journalist usually looking into issues related to the workplace and technology. I also write personal essays as well as reported stories on lifestyle topics and trends. Some of my favorite clips are below.
Recently I've been obsessed with the idea of a female midlife crisis, questioning whether it's a crisis at all.
My essay on doing topical chemotherapy on my face is replete with pictures of me looking rashy, then sunburned, and then much worse.
My Books
I've published two books:My first book spun out of a weekly column that I launched and wrote for PCMag, also called Get Organized. I ran the column for 13 years before deciding to move on from it. For the book on remote work, I was approached directly by the publisher to write it because I was already a known expert on the topic. I wrote the manuscript in three months.
My Newsletter
Every other week I send a short email about living abroad as a family member in the Foreign Service. Sign up here. My partner and I have lived in South India, Romania, Guatemala, and Laos. Before Foreign Service life, we lived in California, New York, and London.
My work regularly appears in WIRED, PCMag (where I was a columnist for 13 years), and Gloria. I've also been featured in Vogue India, BBC, FastCompany, Popular Science, Prevention magazine, San Francisco Business Times, Refinery29, and other print and online publications.
